The Responsibility Matrix forms Appendix 1 in the Construction Industry Council's CIC BIM protocol. The 1st Edition of the Protocol required the definition of “Specified Models”, listed as part of the deliverables which would be included under the scope of the protocol. The new edition has less focus on models and refers to “Specified Information” which includes any and all information required by the EIR and defined in the BEP (or other documents). The Responsibility Matrix defines what model and information is produced by whom, what level of definition in relation to project stages.
If the information requires change during the contract then the responsibility matrix will need to be updated.
