The Infrastructure Technology Navigator supports the public sector and industry organisations search for new and existing technology that can improve the performance of their infrastructure at the planning, investment, delivery or management stages.
BIM Assessment Tool

BIM Grading Tool

The online BIM Grading Tool provides a method to determine when a new public sector project should adopt BIM and to what extent. Using a simple questionnaire, the tool will evaluate submitted project information and provide an automated and recommended approach for the user.  
Whole life appraisal guidance

Whole Life Appraisal Tool Guidance paper

The Whole Life Appraisal Tool offers a flexible framework for whole life appraisals and is designed to be adopted across sectors and in a variety of scenarios including general project reporting, comparison of options, comparison of design options, comparisons of materials or renewables. This guidance sets out how the tool should be adopted and how the user can modify it to align to thetheir project. National Metric Library (SFT paper)

The proposed National Metric Library (NML) will be an open access industry resource providing a searchable and indexable library of metrics that can be used to measure the performance of our built environment across the asset lifecycle. This will support clients and industry to identify appropriate metrics and assess the performance of design, delivery, operation, and disposal of our assets. This paper – National Metrics Library for the Built Environment: Strategy for Implementation was released by Scottish Futures Trust and the Construction Innovation Hub in June 2023. 
Legacy Portal

Legacy SFT BIM portal

The legacy SFT Building Information Modelling (BIM) portal provided guidance in the implementation of UK BIM levels 1 and 2 for Scottish public sector procurers and authorities. The use of project BIM levels was phased out through the release of the BS EN ISO 19650 series, which drives a whole life approach for information managment. The legacy portal content remains accessible for reference purposes. Original resource tools and case studies have been relocated to this current BIM portal.
