Current SIMP (version 3)

The Standard information management plan version 3 has evolved to support clients and contracting authorities repeat use of project information requirements across multiple projects.

Client's master information requirements and asset lists can be linked into the SIMP workbooks at the project outset, to help inform and evolve the information production and delivery strategy.

As a result, this version can support the realisation of the following stakeholder benefits, when applied across multiple projects:

  • Clients: an overall reduction in typical resources and up-front time to establish information deliverables for individual projects.
  • Clients: the ability to develop, manage and consistently specify quality information deliverables which are aligned to their organisational, departmental and project requirements.
  • Project delivery teams: consistent specification of client information requirements provides assurance and certainty of scope for their own and onward supply chain contractual appointments and deliverables.

An exemplar case study has been developed between the City of Edinburgh council and their project delivery partners to demonstrate these benefits and wider opportunities. View this within our case study portfolio.
